Is PVC ok for gas line? I know it isn't but I gotta ask to be sure. It T's off from gas feed and then goes into slab and feeds to outdoor Bar-B-Q.

They used to allow a yellow PVC for natural gas. It was required to be completely buried. They had special metal 90's that were attached to the end that would complete the portion as it exited the ground. Of course plastic is the most common supply line to the meters nowadays but not PVC.
If it is just regular PVC or even schedule 40 I would call it out. Even if it was the allowed yellow PVC, you would not have seen it since it must be completely buried.

Steve, I assume you are referring to CPVC, but either way Mike, PVC shouldn't be used. I know some areas allow copper for gas, but why do that either? I've never seen either around here for gas. Yes, I would right it up.

Joe, No, I did not mean CPVC. I said and meant banana colored bright yellow PVC. It was allowed as long as it was FULLY buried. No stubs or any portion allowed above ground.

Thanx for the clarification Steve, that's new to me. ? Actually you did not say this, - " I said and meant banana colored bright yellow PVC." - as you claim on this previous post in reference to your original post. You said , yellow PVC lines are allowed for gas " yellow PVC for natural gas "- I think that's what you said- there was no mention of bananas> My point- CPVC has a bit of a yellow tint to it. That's why I said that. Is there a name for your banana PVC ? Also bannana yellow is not bright yellow, unless my bannanas aren't as ripe as yours. Just saying.

Joe, Stephen is in Washington. It's very dark and grey up there. Therefore all things yellow are bright, including bananas.

I have never used cow dung. That is for rookies. And two tons is a typical mistake. Clean up is too easy for large amounts. Now a 55 gallon drum of septic tank sludge mixed with chicken manure and water from a stagnant creek. Easy to transport and easy to dump, especially on a hot summer night when someone leaves the bottom of their garage door open to cool it down. The remains of the toilet paper stick especially nice to an asphalt driveway after they dry out. I find that the blow flies that show up can bite quite hard when disturbed from their steaming pile. If you have dull yellow or gold bananas, they are old and usually transported from South America green and treated with ethylene gas. Having picked fresh bananas from my parents trees in Santa Barbara, I can assure you that they are indeed bright yellow. I guess your sense of color comes from all the different shades of sage brush and tumbleweeds.

That's hilarious Steve. LOL But you have the sage brush and tumble weed confused with very far West Texas. I'm in south central Texas. There are no deserts close to here, unless the sand of the beautiful coasts of Corpus Christi, not far from here and Galveston cause confusion. Texas is a large state. It even snows in North Texas. Hope your doing well! Have a banana daquiri on me.
