Yes I saved at the generate report prompt, viewed the report, saved the report and then cliked on add edit photos button so I could rotate a photo only to find that none of the photos were there in the report any more. I had never closed the inspection or HIP at this point.

I have not been offended by your questions at all, just concerned and frustrated, mostly concerned.

It could have been the double click on edit bug mentioned before. It's already been fixed in 3.0 which will be out shortly. Or a corrupt photo and I've built in more protection for that too.

I loaded all my photos from yesterdays inspection into report. No other windows open, saved report exited out. Checked photos they were there. Deleted photos from camera for next inspection. Opened software, started new report. This morning I reopened inspection from yesterday. MY PHOTOS ARE GONE!!!! Very frustrated, this is a large commercial inspection with 196 photos. Any comments??

Hi Kyle,

That could be the photo bug where if you click open inspection by mistake rather than save the pics would clear. What version of Home Inspector Pro are you running? This was fixed about 8 months ago in Home Inspector Pro 3.

Also,  if you have Windows 7 there might still be a shadow copy of the inspection file with your pics. Let me know if that's what you're running.

I am running windows 7 starter, only pushed save report, then exit, saved again for insurance, reopened next day to only some of the photos.

Okay, that could explain the pics then if you'd click on open inspection at some point. Make sure to upgrade to HIP 3 when you can as this has been fixed.

Go to your Client Data folder, right click on the inspection file, click Properties->Previous versions and see if there are any save points from before the pics were lost.

Dominic, I have had another problem with pictures, now i am trying to open previous saved file like you mentioned to me in last post. It comes up for me to buy inspection software or load license at that point. How do I use the previous file?

Hi Kyle,

What version of the program are you using now?  Check under About-About.

Did you open the inspection by clicking on Open Inspection within the software, or click and hzf file directly in Windows? The latter could cause this issue. Always open inspections from within the software.

I have problems with pics on numerous occasions, yesterday after editing the pic it disappeared, it showed when in the section of report but not in the photo area. I ended up saving file and then reopening. I then re added the picture, there have been other occasions, but I just try to keep quite, save and then reopen and correct.

Just thought I would share.

Hmm, I've never heard of anything like that. The issue the other were having earlier in this thread were from a version of HIP from early last year and was fixed long ago. But you're using a current version. So the pic is obviously there stored you just can't see it. Which computer is this happening on?

Desktop, (not the craptop) Not sure what it is but I work around it, to busy to go on chat for you to see. Just wanted to share.

I have another issue with the generated contract. Only happens when opening up more than 1 report at a time, changes the layout, I need to save and reopen to create a properly generated contract.

Oh, I also have list disappear when inserting into the panels.

Please jump on live chat when that happens so Dan or I can see it remotely. It'll help us see what's going on.

Lists are supposed to disappear on the right side of red/black after you select the comments. They'll stay on the left as long as you save template.

You'd have to show me what you mean by the contract as I'm not following you.

I just had this problem with one of my reports. The tabs for the photos are still in the report. I still have the photos in another folder. Is there some way I can get the report to retrieve all of the photos into the report in their proper places?

I would do this, save the current file with a different name.

Close program

Reopen program and click on saved file.

Or go on live support and show the issue and help you resolve the photo problem.
