I am just getting started in the home inspection business and was wondering if anyone has a template that follows the Arizona S.O.P that you would be willing to share?

Hi Joseph,

The default template is more than enough as they use the ASHI SOP which several other licensed states use. But you can contact some of the other guys.

Mark Timpani posted a sample report a year or two ago from Phoenix and there's lots of AZ guys that post here. You can check out his sample here: http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,182/topic,73.msg359/#msg359 and contact him as well.

Also, check out Serge DelHoyos ASHI template shared in the template section (he has 4). It's used by a ton of ASHI members.

A quick scan of Marks template and it does not capture all of the AZ BTR Requirements

Yea I cant seem to find a template that follows the BTR requirements. I will most likely make my own if I cant find one.

It is pretty close I think from what I have seen, but it needs a little fine tuning IMO

Best thing to do is find one close then adjust it via Edit Template to fit your needs. Might also want to let mark know what it's missing. I think he posted that almost 2 years ago so you might want to email him to see what his newer version looks like as I'm sure it's changed, they always do.

Brian, make sure to import your IV libraries into another template so you can easily copy/paste them into whatever template you do in bulk. It'll also bring over all your section introductions as well.

Here is a link to the Arizona BTR checklist.   http://www.btr.state.az.us/UserFiles/File/PDFs/Nov%202010%20Report%20Checklist%20Supplement.pdf

Only thing I noticed that was the vapor barrier which would take about 30 seconds to add in via Edit Template. The rest are all items on the report or comments within areas (but can be separate if needed). I might have overlooked something, if so, let me know.

Functional drainage, functional flow, type of DW & V material, lights, switches, etc.
All in all pretty close though

I may start with Marks, template myself and see if I can make it work for me.

It is really good.

Perhaps.  Smiley   But it will take some time.  I think building off of Marks Template makes the most sense to me right now.
