I'm sure you've seen the home inspection training adds; "Want to be your own boss? Make big money? Work in the mornings and go to the beach in the afternoon? Become a home inspector."
Well...I did just that today. (except for the big money. I earned a respectable fee though)
Did an inspection in the morning and went to the beach with my family in the afternoon. What a great day. Very hot. Really too hot to work but perfect for an afternoon at the beach.

The outside temp was probably about mid 30s. I'm guessing the water was 25 or so close to shore and about 20 farther in. That actually makes it nice to get in. You don't have this shock of cool water on hot skin right of the bat but you have a chance to get wet before the water gets cooler.

And for those of us Celsius challenged folks: 30 C = 86 F, 25 C = 77 F, and 20 C = 68 F! Sorry Bert, just couldn't resist!  |

Hey that's pretty warm! I guess there's no ice skating right now No skating now even here in the great white North. It was warmer in the lake (Lake Huron) yesterday than any other time I was there. Usually it is cool enough that it is kind of hard to get in but nice once your in. |

Sorry Bert, but even a born and raised Minnesotan doesn't buy 30 F this year! It's been great weather this summer, and considering we deal with -30 in the winters, we deserve it!

Casey, unless you live in the southern most part of Minnesota, you are likely more North than where I am. The great lakes give us some snow but they also temper the Ontario winters a bit. Does Lake Superior have a tempering effect on your weather or does Minnesota must pretty well have a land climate?

I do actually live in the southern part of MN...about 45 min. from Iowa, 45 min. from Wisconsin. Yes, Lake Superior does change the climate in Duluth, but thats 4 hours north of me.  |
