I can only change the background color of the title page in the FORMAT tab. I see no way to change border color of font. There is some kind of tab showing, but I cannot read it. It appears that maybe the tabs are there, but the box window is not large enough to show all.

One of the recent Java updates for Mac changed the way left side tabs work. I created an update for it but a few people were having problems with it so I didn't publicly release it. You can download it here: http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/dmdocuments/HomeInspectorPro-2_7_1.dmg install it to a different directory and rename the Home Inspector Pro.dmg something like Home Inspector Pro 2.dmg. Drag it into the Home Inspector Pro folder and run it. You'll have access to a bunch of new features and formatting will work properly. See if the "Open Inspection" button works for you (that's what a few guys were having problems with). You can use that version to edit the template than the normal Home Inspector Pro.dmg to continue working afterwards if it has a problem opening. I'll have a new version out with a fix shortly. Let me know either way though.

Well Dominic, the "Open Inspection" button does not work for me either. I installed the updated version you gave me in another folder. I copied my template from the original Home Inspector Pro folder to the updated version folder to try to revise my template like you said and then copy it back to my original folder. Well, the template has lost all of its original enhancements such as the cover page footer that I had and all of the section colors and print order settings. Must be they do not follow the template? I thought that they did. I will just wait for your update.

Footer and other information is in the Footer.xml file. You actually did it backwards. Rename the new Home Inspector Pro.dmg to Home Inspector Pro 2.dmg and move it into your existing folder. Your template with all it's information will be there and all its settings.
Order and colors are in the templates .tpz file though so you shouldn't lose those. You can just open up your last job and click Save Template to set your template back how it was.

So, after doing the above, I see I lost my original application, so I entered time machine and restored the whole HIP folder from this afternoon. Everything is great...except my template formatting is gone back to the default (colors, etc.) and I lost my cover page footer. I believe this happened to me when I closed the program earlier today and then reopened. I do not think that these items are being saved with the template. Any thoughts on this?

Are you exiting the program via the Mac Quit option ? Remember you have to exit under File->Exit or the red X so HIP can capture it and save properly.

Yup, that is it. You have to excuse me, because I have been using the Windows version for a while because it had more features available than the MAC version. Now I see that the MAC version has almost caught up with the Windows version and I really want to use the MAC version. I forgot the proper saving feature on the MAC. Sorry.

No problem! I was wondering how you forgot that, now I see how. Since the Mac is the only OS with that Quit option and they refuse to hook it into Java, we have no control of what happens there (unfortunately).
Did you get the Home Inspector Pro 2 loaded okay? New release for both will be out soon.

Ok, will have that fixed shortly. Just use that version to edit the formatting temporarily.
