I thought we'd spruce up the forum a bit. Right now the group under everyone's name shows the usual Newbie, Junior, etc. Boring group names. Anyone have good ideas for new names we can give inspectors based on the number of posts they make?

Haha, most of you probably are. I wasn't born yet. That's funny though, all Home Inspector Pro users could call themselves HIPpies

I don't know what the categories all are now and how many posts or whatever defines each level.  Lemmino and I will think about it - I can be pretty creative...  in a good way - nothing untoward!

I'm listening. I'll be redefining the post counts as more people start posting, so that part doesn't matter too much. The names are the fun part. Hippie for at least one of them seems pretty funny.

Okay - heah 'tis - just suggestions...

Newbie (probably the best) -or- Tenderfoot -or- Apprentice - up to 50 posts -- 1 star or a White Belt
Junior Member -or- Fledgling -or- 2nd Degree - 50 to 100 posts -- 2 stars or a Yellow Belt
Centenarian -- 100 to 200 posts -- 3 stars or a Green Belt
POSTal -- 200 to 500 posts -- 4 stars or a Red Belt
HIPster -- 500 to 1000 posts -- 5 stars or a Brown Belt
Kilomember -- over 1000 posts or a Black Belt
Der Fuehrer -- Dominic - well, really, it beats Hero Member...  but, hey, when you're the Big Cheese you can call yourself whatever you want, right Bossman?!

You could go with themes too - like cars (from small to big or slow to fast), planets or astronomical phenomena or something you like - ummmm, hey, computers!  It's your site!

Have your people call my people...  we'll do elunch.

You could build from lesser lights to brighter ones.  Spark - candle - lantern - flashlight - spotlight - sun - satellite... oh, that's not a light.  Ummm...

I need to loose the newbie designation.

According to Dominic I need to post 25 times.

I would also consider using the HIP report software and web hosting as a way of determining the designation.

Also the join date on this forum.

If an idea is posted that is considered useful I would award the poster points.

We could use a point designation.

Posts+ reports + website rankings + useful ideas + join date= Poster designation.

So I would have 6 points posts/5 points reports/0 web as it is not up yet and 10+ useful idea
0 for join date

Total points = 21 Designation =Newbie  Cry
I gave myself 10 points so you can subtract that
So I do fit the newbie designation.

Lol. First, there is a Karma option under each persons name where you can applaud or smite posts. I do think I need to add the ability fory ou guys to add your location under your name. Let me make sure that's set up.

Ok, location works. You can add that in your profile, I'll make a new post about it.

It seems to me that my location has been under my name since I joined this message board.  Of course, it doesn't mention my usual computer State of Confusion... that's a location too, right?

Is Demo Demo near La La Land?
