Hi all, first time signed in here. New to HIP last month. As I'm trying to steal all these great templates they dont seem to want to show up on the drop down list in the HIP menu dropdown "open template". I save to HIP data and they show up there with a padlock and only show html code. Any clues?

Hi Scott,

I think you're saving the page. Make sure to click on the .tpz file that's on the page with the template and save it to the Data folder. Also, if you're using Internet Explorer, make sure when you save, the file type says All Files. Let us know if you still have any problems!

Tried again. Changed to all files and it did not help. I do get a message that states default can't open file type, but still allows me to save. It goes into the drop down menu for data files when I try to save again, but it's not ion the list when I open HIP and open the "open template" tab. It still has the padlock icon. I've tried with 2 seperate templates and get the same thing.

Scott, what I did that works great for me, is I went into my computer>cdrive>program files>homeinspector pro>then I right clicked the "Data" folder and saved a shortcut to my desktop. When I save a template to my desktop, I can just drag and drop it into the folder and its installed.
I am in and out of templates so much, that it is faster for me to do it that way.

I also do this with the client reports folder, client data folder, ect.

Vista or Windows 7 can be putting it in the Virtual Store (don't ask). Do what Drew suggested and save it to your desktop, the copy the file to your Data folder.
