Dominic,

I want to start by saying I am very happy I switched to HIP.

I cannot seem to change the order of sections in the print settings. I would like to change the format so exterior items show up first.

Did this by chance get removed as a feature?

Hi John,

I'm very happy to hear that  Grin The feature was not removed, just moved. There's a new animated tutorial on it here: http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/software-tutorials/home-inspector-pro/how-to-change-print-order-and-other-print-settings.html
The option is now under Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order. This combined everything about section formatting into one area. Just click a section then click up/down. Make sure to save the template when you're done as that's a template change.

Awesome, that's what I want to hear Cheesy There will be a few new additional to that screen in the future as well. For now you can also control the fonts and border and header color for each individual section. Some users had requested this ability so that each section in the report would have it's own color theme.

I personally think the color option is fantastic. My clients and realtors are super impressed that the report now even matches my business colors. So how do we go about getting updates for the program and will it just merge with my current template or what?

You can always get the latest public upload by clicking on Downloads on the left in the user menu after logging into the website (the menu doesn't appear on the forum to made the forum wider, so go back to the home page). Just download the update and install it. Never, ever uninstall the program, just install the update directly over the old version. Your existing templates won't be changed a bit.

Cool! Glad to hear that clients and realtors like the look. Make sure to attach a pdf copy of your report in the template design section to show off what you've been working on. I realize you've only been using the program for a few weeks, so I'm not sure how many changes you've made yet.

To me, that's one of the real beauties of HIP.
I can configure it to the order in which I perform an inspection, and not be dictated to by someone else.
The template I've created closely mimics the Word doc I've created & used for the past 5 years . . .
and which I've wanted someone to make into a drop-down report.  Now, I've done it myself!

It sounds like you added a brand new area, or deleted the old ones. Do you have the original bathroom sections there? Or did you delete it? If you deleted it you can open the DefaultBackup.tpz or you can copy the sections from other areas of the program. How late are you up? I'm responding on my phone right now as I'm out getting christmas gifts. I'll be back later tonight and can give you a call.
