Just got off the phone with my employer and nothing in the works.
They just lost another job to low bid. Came in second. Not close enough.
Looks like it will be a long winter if I don't find some work.

Marcel sorry to here about the job lost they are bidding low out there . Around here the small contractors are hurting because the big guys will take a job with very little profit if any. Things have to get better the sooner the better everything is very slow over here home sales down more than 30% unemployment at 15.6% around here we have homes that have been foreclosed twice now. The home was lost due to interest rate change rip off re sold after it foreclosed, the new buyers lost there jobs and the house was foreclosed again.

Here is an example of how bad it has been for me, this has been a common scenerio.

Client calls, I talk to him 5/10 minutes book job for tomorrow AM.

Dual agent and I need to contact him. I spen 10 minutes with agent and we remember working with each other in past. Nice guy!!

I spend 10 more minutes with wife as husband did not have info and was at work. I confirm time with agent and buyers.

I spend 15 minutes getting contract, report prepared with HIP.

Client calls canceling inspection. Reason was not completely clear.

I wasted 30-45 minutes of my time.


Last week a client double booked and for some reason I contacted agent for code and she stated about the other inspector. I called client and they lied stating there loan did not go thru.

Same week a client called to set up a radon/general for his home.  He had questions about a mold remidiation at his house, was done with bleach. I advised he call a mold specialist. Mold specialist also does radon/general. This inspector took my inspections away. I lost this one as I was honest.

It is really bad in the inspection market for me, between the utility companies, clients, economy and what seems to be a bad run of luck it looks like a long winter.
