Nope, just means I get to shift a few hours from tech support to programming (more fun as I get to add more features into HIP + HIP Sites).

I think it is great but if you don't mind, I have a word of caution; When I was trying to decide which reporting program to use, the comments that persuaded me to go with HIP were comments like, program A and HIP are both good programs but with HIP the personal service is second to none. I am not saying that the personal service is going to suffer with the growth of the company but that it will take extra vigilance to ensure that it doesn't. I worked for a company for 20 years. When I started I was one of 2 employees and after 20 years I was one of 45. Did service suffer? Oh yes. Not being a doom sayer; just a concerned HIP citizen. (Would that make me a HIPite? or maybe an HIPedian?)

You have nothing to worry about Bert, I'm extremely vigilant in who we hire. I'll still be doing plenty of tech support and I specifically hired Dan & John because of the superior skills. John will mostly be doing programming as that's his strong suit & Dan will be doing mostly tech support because he's an excellent teacher (which I believe is what has helped me so much) and great at tech support. The tech support will only get better because we will have more excellent tech support people to help out which means we can get back to people faster and spend more time with each person. If you look around the inspection software world right now almost none of the programs even have phone support, almost all charge yearly for tech support. We stand out in this area and will always continue to. Some of you guys have noticed we've implemented a ticket system if you click on Help Desk which allows all of us to see questions in the ticket system and answer them as quickly as possible. It also allows guys to look up all the questions they've ever asked, and their answers.
There's a reason that I hired guys I've known for years. I just didn't feel comfortable hiring someone that I didn't already know is an excellent match for our (meaning us and all you guys) company.

That's great. I wasn't concerned that it wouldn't be specifically you who would provide the support, after all, you can't do everything. As to the tech support in the reporting software, I had a small tryout with another company. Didn't appear to be near as good as you guys but I didn't try it long enough to be very critical. I did try another website host. Amazing difference. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if I had stayed there. Congratulations for the great job you are doing and thank you.

When I have a website question there usually is no hurry. A bit ago I had a program question that put me into a bit of a panic. I found the answer so there was no need for panic but if I hadn't, would the help desk be the quickest way to get an answer or does the "leave a message" icon at the top right bring me to the same place?

The Help Desk and the Leave a Message send your messages to the same place, into the ticket system so we can all see the message (and receive and email that there's a ticket there). When it's an urgent question, feel free to call. We like to reserve the phones for report questions as much as possible and prefer website questions go on the message boards so others can learn from the same question, via email or the ticket system (as they aren't usually as pressing). Though you can of course call the phones for websites as well.
