Hi Guys,

I just finished one of the largest updates features wise in a while. Specifically the long awaited spell check has been completely rewritten and added back in. Currently all words spelled wrong when you are adding/editing a comment, or working in any of the docs or even picture captions will be underlines as you type (great live feedback Smiley. Right click on misspelled words to see possible spellings. Right now there's an extra click there I plan on eliminating. You can also hit F7 when working in any of these areas to run through a MS Word style spell check mode where all words in the current section misspelled will be run through. Eventually I will be adding a button to trigger this function as well, and creating a 'spell check whole program' function where the spell checker looks through everything you have to check. Note, spell check will not underline words spelled wrong when they are in a list, you have to be in an edit or add mode.

Make sure to give some feedback on the message boards as I'd like to make this version available to the public this week!

Overview of all changes below, read it over there's several other biggies added since last weeks beta update.

New Feature: Spellcheck added in English (Spanish, French, Italian and German coming soon). Added to add add/edit comments, edit documents, footer, contract, and photo caption windows. You will see words underlined and can also hit F7 to run a complete spell check to run through the entire document, comment, etc. Right click on the words spelled incorrectly to see suggestions.

New Feature: Added a move up/down button to the red & black comments so you can rearrange their appearance.

New Feature: Rotate image 90 degrees clockwise/counterclockwise now added to edit photo.

Design Change: When you enter Edit Photo mode the "Draw Arrow" button will be selected by default. Since this is the tool used the most, it will save you a click if it's what you're going to be using first.

Design Change: The drop down boxes used to set where the photos will appear now display up to 25 items at once before creating a scroll bar. Previously only 10 were shown which meant you had to scroll at time. 25 was chosen as the max as it's the most that can be shown on an 800x600 resolution computer.

Design Change: Made it so that when you have 2 panels on the screen the split will be closer to 50/50. This is to help out on smaller resolutions.

Design Change: The new larger edit boxes will move a word to the next line if it doesn't fit, rather than splitting the word across lines.

Hey Mike,

Thanks, glad you like the changes. I'm working on a few more additions that will make the spell check more useful. For example, right now it's case sensitive. If you capitalize everything in your picture caption it will say that's wrong as only the first word should be capitalized. I'm working on removing case sensitivity there. I'm also going to move the language selection to th Edit section and make it so when you right click it goes directly to the possible spellings.

Hey Bob, I'll see about limiting the possibilities of correct spellings.

Glad you have a new patch in today and would like to let every one know I found a way to add graphics by placing them at the bottom of the docs.
First bring the cursor down a few lines then paste your illustration or graphic file into the doc after that just hit enter so the cursor pushes the graphic file downward until you see the side scroll bar hit the top.
This is approximately one full page down.
Now just pick which section to put it and you are good to go.
If you tried this before you wou;d have found the pic or graphic corrupted.

HI,
 Dominic,

1. I had some overwriting of the footer with text in the latest beta release 2.5.9.1

2. Is there a way to have the summary page not print or better yet to have the ability to add a seperate text field to the Summary. It I have no Red conditions in a Radon report for example, I get a blank summary page when I generate a report.

3. I issue a separate report for Radon results 2-3 days after the home inspection report but I have to re-enter all the client data. Did I miss something?

4. On my footer which is two lines, if I select "center text" the second line still left justifies.

5. I had double printing of some photos in a generated report and had to go delete them in the inspection and re-enter to get rid of them.

That's what I have for now.
Love the last beta update features.
Let me know if you need me to send you any files to see the bugs.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the input

1. This is occurring if you're using the 2nd header/footer format and we do know about it and it will be fixed in the next version. It has to do with the extra height given to the footer in the format.

2. We're working on a way to drop the summary page. You can definitely add text to it. Create a document under Edit Documents call it Summary Intro or whatever, then set it to print before the summary and check the box for the same page (if you don't check the box the document is given it's own page, like if you wanted an intro letter to the client).

3. You could add the radon info to your normal template. Then under Report Settings->Section Colors & Print Order uncheck the Radon page when you do the normal report, then uncheck the other sections a few days later when you print just the radon. That way you can keep everything in one client info file.

4. We know about this, it's a noted bug. For now you can tab over a few times to center it. We're looking at updated all the document sections of the program so have put this fix off.

5. Never heard of this happening to anyone. Is it possible you actually just had the photo twice in the add photos section? You could have imported twice, or maybe even took the photo twice? Let me know if you see this again and send me the hzf file if it does.

Thanks for your answers. :-)

5. That's what I thought at first but no. It drove me nuts on 3 photos, but now I can't reproduce it. If it happens again I will try to pay more attention.

Hmm, strange. Any chance you had the program open twice at once? If you can reproduce it, let me know. I haven't heard anyone else mention this yet.

Yeah if you have the program opened twice it can turn into hades as I found out when trying to do a presentaion.
Never open two to transfer comments from one template to another then continue working on a report.
Always close both of them then reopen , and do this before you start a real report or you could be into the house of pain.
While on photos , I have a small glitch where when I check to leave the first photo open for the cover it puts a photo in there anyway when I close and reopen the inspection at times.
So I end up deleting and reentering that one.
Keep in mind this is if I do not insert a cover photo before I close.

Bob,

That's not a glitch, it was programmed that way (or at least not programmed to not act that way). After you save the inspection and reopen the inspection it shifts ALL the photos up so there aren't any spaces open. The reason for this is if you go and import 300 photos as several people this week have told me they've done, then go through and delete a good 30% of them, after you save and reopen it has shifted them all up. This minimizes the number of tabs opens (using less ram) as well as makes it easier to find the photos.I figured if you're entering photos you'd choose the cover at the same time. I guess you can throw any old picture there if you plan on not choosing the cover until later.

Yeah, stay away from opening two copies of the program. I've been going through and looking at what I need to make sure to have open in a random folder so that there's no problems. But even then if you opened up both then saved one as default template, then the other, the 2nd would take precedent.

So even if just say opening to transfer comments but not working on a report avoid that also? ok
Far as the pics go I will need to add the cover before say stepping away from the report to do something else and closing the report .ok

I would stay away from opening the program twice until I have some more time this weekend to look at it. Right now the templates get unzipped to the same folder, it probably won't be an issue if you were only working on templates, but definitely would be for inspections.

For the cover photo, yes, add it, or add a place holder before closing out.

Hi Robert,

Haven't released it yet as I had a few issues with the spell check to resolve on the mac end that I've finally finished up. The windows users are LOVING it. I'm adding in a few more feature requests that I've had (a few of the many) and hope to release a new windows & mac version this weekend.
