How can we tell when spiders visits our sites, and how often?

I ask this question because I'd like to know how often my site info gets updated on the search engines results.

Spiders could visit your site every day but your results could still get updated once every 3 months, it isn't a 1 to 1 deal. If you've installed google analytics it should tell you what spiders have been checking out your site.

Ok, did a little research. Google Analytics doesn't track spiders, and it makes sense. Spiders don't execute javascript which is how Google tracks visitors. I'll see if I can figure something else out.
