I'm brand new to web site design and SEO. From what I've read this is a whole lot easier than what I thought.
Just getting started and lots of reading to do. Here's hoping I can be as sucessful as the websites I've been checking out.
The SEO is the biggest part for me. Have there been some significant results? How do you measure the results?

Hey John,

The way to note your results is this. Think of the top 5 cities that you inspect in. Go to Google, Yahoo and MSN. Type in "city1 home inspector" , "city2 home inspector", etc. And see where your site currently ranks. Then you make note of your changes once a week and see how you're moving up/down.

Quite a few of the guys have had awesome results in a short time. For example, Google "Tennessee Inspector" or "Dayton Thermal Inspections". Some of the other guys can tell you how they've done. The beta testers have been using the system about 4 months, the system went public 2-3 weeks ago and some of those guys like http://www.homeinspectoratlanta.com are ranking for all sorts of keywords. The other gauge is the number of jobs you're getting from your site compared to before as the attractiveness of the site encourages people to call.

Yes there are definate results.  I have gotten to page one for one of my target keywords - and I feel like I'm about 50% of where I need to be SEO wise.  It takes some time, I've had my site for a couple months, but its much sooner than I thought it would be!

Keep at it and you'll be fine.  Any questions post here or you can call or email me if you'd like.
