Dominic,

Using all of the information available on this forum for SEO, I went through and optimized my site (I think).  Now I have a problem.  When I type in www.halcyonhomeinspection.com I get Page not found. Huh  What did I screw up?

Other than that problem, what do you think about the SEO I performed?

Hey Julian,

You changed your home page to http://www.halcyonhomeinspection.com/home-inspections-home.html but did not update it under site information. That's the reason for the page not found. I took care of it for you.

Most of the optimization looks good, but you're definitely missing some things. Read my tips on the page title (shows at the top of your browser). You need to get the top cities in there like "Performing Home Inspections in xx,xx,xx,xx and surrounding areas.

I don't see city names anywhere on your main page. That's very important!!

Read over everything here: http://www.homeinspectorpro.com/Table/Search-Engine-Optimization-For-Home-Inspectors/ if you have questions on any of it, just ask!

Dominic,

Thanks for the fix.  Interestingly, I did put "Performing Home Inspections....." on the main page (Second "Page Title" Field) but it is not showing up on the browser window.

Fixed. I forgot that the front page of the site actually grabs the content there from the site slogan. Should be working now.

Now its working.

As per your advice I had put the main city in the Page Title Field (Santa Rosa) but then for the other 4 cities I would use the lesser cities randomly.  Some of the "secondary cities" I used a couple of times.  Should I reduce the number of cities more and just repeat them more often on each Page Title?

Also, should the Keywords be directly related to the information on each page, or should they be just general for the site as a whole?  Are repeating them on each page Good or Bad?

Finally, will the Page Title Field information be enough or should I get the the City information in the content of the pages as well?

Thanks again.

Keywords, Page Description and Title all need to match up with content on the page. You want to have those cities in every place possible. The higher the percentage of the city name on the page, the better rankings you'll get for that term.

Thanks for pointing out the Page Title issue. You made me do a double check. I had forgotten to add code to the last few themes I did to make sure the alternate page titles worked in them. All corrected now.
