Hi Anthony,

Welcome to the site! I'd say the most popular if you are planning on-site inspections is to use an HP or Fujitsu tablet. We have a large franchise in New Zealand and all they use are HP tablets. Unfortunately it seems the tablet companies have decided to jack up the price a little bit over there versus the price here. You can also see if you can get your hands on a Samsung Q1 or Fujitsu Lifebook which are two UMPC's, basically a 5" to 7" tablet with a thumb keyboard. Quite a few of the guys just pick up tablets off of ebay as the program runs well even on old 1 ghz machines with 1 gig of ram. Any new tablet you buy will be able to run the program great, just make sure it has at least 1 gig of ram to handle the large photo imports that you might do at times.

Are you planning on printing out your reports at home or on the job site? Or just emailing them from home?

Thanks Dominic, thats a great help, I will be printing on site as well as emailing from home. I was thinking about a PDA so you have saved me a wasted purchase.

Glad to help. Definitely go with a tablet or UMPC. Most guys printing on site use an HP printer set to draft mode to make the printer go MUCH faster. This works well when hyoure following up with an email.
