In this tutorial we'll cover how to add sample reports to your reports page. You could also use this method to add other documents to your site. - Go to your sample reports page.
- Click on the Edit button at the top.
- Type in the text that you want to become the link like "Sample Report 1"
- Highlight that text (use your mouse).
- Click on the link icon (look like a chain link or infinity symbol).
- Click Browse Server
- Change the folder in the drop down to reports
- Click Browse on the bottom, then upload file. The file is now uploaded.
- You'll see the file listed up above. Click Add to the right of its name.
- Change the protocol drop down box to say 'Other' (this is something I'm trying to make easier here).
- Click Ok
- You're done! Test it out
This will eventually become an animated tutorial. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about this tutorial, post them here!

Hi Bill,
I just logged into your site and it looked ok. When I clicked on browse server I get another popup and in the middle is a drop down box that allows you to change the folder. Do you get the popup box when you click on browse server?

Dominic, I may have figured it out. I found it on the bottom task bar. But when I try to upload I get "file size exceeds upload limit"

Try it now. Your file size was set to 100kb which I had the first few sites too as I was thinking of pictures only. I've upped it so each file can now be 5 megs for a total of 1 gigs. Let me know if it works better. If anyone else has issues, let me know. The first sites I setup have some small variations to how I have the sites set up now.

Awesome, glad to hear that Hopefully we'll finish up the animated tutorials soon to make things smoother. Right now I'm trying to fix some cosmetic issues with some of the themes but will get back to the animations later tonight.

Hi Patrick,
You missed this step: Change the protocol drop down box to say 'Other' (this is something I'm trying to make easier here).
I updated your site and it works great now.
Just so everyone knows, this is now an animated tutorial as well. You can get to it by clicking on Website Tutorials from the main home page of our site. Dominic

Hi Dominic,
My file size limit is at 100kb as well.
Have I mentioned that I think you really have a AWESOME hosting package!!!! And your assistance and willingness to help is outstanding!

Hey Bill, I'm glad to hear that Make sure to tell all your inspector friends. We hope to go public in the next few days. I'm working on fixing up a few last things and securing another server as I expect a lot of signups within the first few weeks. I'll update the file size right now, check it in about 2 minutes. Dominic

Ok, all done. How do you like the new header for the theme you're using? I updated it today after some suggestions from a few other inspectors.
Also, the FAQ | HIP is part of the Primary Menu. You can click on Menus in your Admin section and delete the HIP link. I think I had it there for testing at one point. You can then add whatever you want horizontally in the menu across the top of your site and even eliminate one of the side menus if you want.

Thanks Dominic! I think the header looks great. I noticed that this evening. I added the FAQ link at the top... I've been leaving the HIP link up there until I'm done. I like it as a quick reference link to this board when I get stuck. I'm still working on new pages in Word and then I'll dump them onto the site when ready. Then I'll re-adjust all the links and positions as well as decide what to put at the top. You better believe I'll spread the word!

Awesome, sounds good Make sure to put the link to your site in your signature here and on any forum you use. It really helps out your search engine rankings as forums get trolled by spiders often.

Try to do a shift-refresh on your page. The first time you look at the browser it creates the folders, if it does it too slowly you wont see them. Also, make you click browse and dont see anything popup, make sure it isn't already open at the bottom of your screen from when you opened it before.

I think that's where I found it - much later - in a small window that was covered by others. Found it when I was in the process of shutting down.

Ok, I figured as much. If you're not paying attention and click on the other window then the browser will fall behind it. Just make sure to check the bottom of your taskbar.
