1  Home Inspector Pro Software / Program Questions / Comment about client info page on: December 05, 2008, 02:15:44 PM
I dont think any of the client info should show up on the report if it is not used.

Ex: I dont have a name to put in but on the report it still says "Inspection prepared for"

I did not test the other sections on the client page, but I think it should be that the items that we dont type in, should not show up.

All my screens open in a small size. I then have to hit the max button. They used to open full. I tried draging them open and then closing but it did not work. Any ideas?

When I eat after an inspection its mostly fast food. So I go in use the facilities and wash up. When I cant I use the sanitizer that I carry.

I want to change my line/bullets selection.. I'm hoping there is a master selector some where to pick my new choice that will change all of them at once, or do I have to go and do them all individually? I hate to think how many there are, (plus I have 2 templates, so I would have to do it twice.)
8  Web Site Design & SEO / Website Design Questions / Re: How to Add Images on: September 26, 2008, 06:30:07 PM
I uploaded all the images fine, but step 7 above says "Click Add next to the image." I only saw delete, where is the "add"? I tried all sorts of things with no luck, finally I closed out. Are all those pictures still saved someplace or will I have to upload all of them again?

Thanks Dominic. I just checked, the photo buttons are the same size but the pics are definitely smaller.

My res. is 1024x768. Been using this res and this computer and HIP on this computer for 3 months. No problem. Used HIP on the other computer 800x600 for about 6 months? No problem. The photo edit box and the boxes to type comments in were both a good size and easy to see. Now with the new update from last week, the photo edit box size (on my comp) is about 1-2" smaller all around. In other words before it opened to about 6" - 7" x 6" - 7", now it opens to about a 4" x 5" square. The comment box used to open to about 2" wide x 8 - 10" long. Now it opens to a 3 x 4" square and Dom said something about having to make things fit on the smaller handhelds. I thought the solution would be to make a mini version for handhelds and a regular or large version for the others.

I understand about accomadating everyone and thier computers. But for us old guys with full screen computers things are getting harded to see . The box sizes and pictures are getting smaller. I know this is happening for the people that use small tablets and handhelds so it can fit on thier screens, but I use a full screen with large print so I can see things easier.

Here is a suggestion. Have two size HIP programs. One for regular computer use and one for handhelds. When they call you, you'll ask "What will you be usin HIP on? Oh a hand held, then download this one." The two different sizes can then be listed on the same page with your other software down loads.

On the laptop 15.4" I am not in 800X600 like my desktop. The laptop is a wide screen and the font did not get larger at 800x600, the sreen reralestate size actually gets smaller. I am at 1280x800

On my 19" toshiba.com looks good also, but the 15.4 " the font is tiny.. thanks for all your doing...
14  General Discussion / Computer Questions / Re: HIP Website on: May 04, 2008, 01:56:54 PM
yes look at toshiba.com and you'll see how tiny the font is... smart computing said that some sites the fonts will not adjust due to how they create the sites...  When I have time I will have to try firefox.

No, I tried the IE text size and they do not change it.
17  Home Inspector Pro Software / Program Questions / reports on: May 03, 2008, 09:04:30 AM
I have 2 computers. My desktop had all the HIP items on it . Report software, the HIP Program all my inspection pics etc. My new computer lap top, has the inspection software on it and I did 2 reports on it. The desk top now does not have these 2 inspection pics or reports on it. Can I copy these 2 reports from the laptop and paste them into the : cdrive, program files, HIP, client reports section on the  desk top with out messing anything up? That way my 2 comp would stay equal.
18  General Discussion / Computer Questions / HIP Website on: May 03, 2008, 08:50:10 AM
Where did the size buttons go? They were at the top of the page. Thats the first thing I go to on your site because the font is soooooo small. The text size control from IE (I think) does not do anything....so I used your buttons.

sounds like your on the right track
20  Home Inspector Pro Software / Beta Testers & New Feature Discussion / New Idea on: March 02, 2008, 12:29:43 PM
Here is an idea for the picture section.

When you create the report you add black (good) comments or red (repair or concerns) comments. When you then add your pics both dropdown boxes in the picture section, populate with the section info which is great. Heres the idea...How about also populating the caption box with any of the red (concerns) that you created in the report?

For example: the cracked bath sink picture comes up, you select dropdown section               " bathroom"     then dropdown item   "sinks"   , as soon as you select    "sinks",    all your red comments pop up (if any) like cracked, leaks, replace sink, whatever comments you wrote in the report... You can then select the comment you want for your caption of that pic.

This would save us from having to retype a caption for each picture. Sometimes you can use the section heading as the caption as the software already has this capability. But most of the time I am typing the detail of the pic for the caption.  Since I already did this in the report if the concern/s or comment/s could just pop up, we could just select the caption and not have to retype it for each pic.

I looked at 7 other HIP reports and 90% of you do the same thing I do, detail caption each pic. This would save alot of time per report and I am all about saving time...What do you think?
